Over the past few years, innovation in dentistry has advanced treatment options considerably. Dr. Mark Stagis is a leader in the area of dental technology as well as cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Stagis has practiced restorative and cosmetic dentistry in Fresno for the past 28 years. He graduated from Fresno State and received his Doctorate from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 1980.
He has studied extensively at the Great Lakes Learning Institute in Detroit, Michigan, is a member of the Academy of Computer Dentistry of North America, Academy of Laser Dentistry, Fresno Madera Dental Society, California Dental Society, and the American Dental Association. One thing that Dr. Stagis is most proud of is his incredible TEAM of professionals he has chosen to work with him at the Fresno Smile Center... Leslie and Kelly, his dental hygienists for 22 and 8 years; Nita and Sue, his front office for 19 and 5 years; and Kristy, Carol, and Vanessa his dental assistants for 13, 8 and 1 year. Just recently Dr. Stagis added to his team 2 valuable employees, Kadie a dental assistant who has been a patient of Dr. Stagis since she was 5 years old,and Stephanie who worked as a dental hygienist for Dr. Stagis in the past and has returned as the hygiene coordinator. Dr. Stagis and his team are dedicated to providing all of their patients with the highest level of care and caring. An intergral part of providing the highest quality of care is having a dynamic team that is committed to their patients oral health. Dr. Stagis is pleased to announce that he has grown his team of dedicated and skilled individuals. After months of searching for the right person, Dr. Stagis is delighted to announce that he has found a dentist who shares the team enthusiasm and practice philosphy. An example of the latest in technology that Dr. Stagis and Dr. Vick use is called CEREC 3D, or “Computer Generated Dentistry”. The Doctors begin by taking an optical image of the original tooth and then use a computer to design the porcelain veneer or crown. Their patients enjoy watching as they meticulously design and can see a “virtual image” of their new tooth before it is milled. It is milled right there in the office within 20 minutes, and the patient leaves with a beautiful ceramic restoration and often times a “new smile!” The ceramic restoration is extremely precise, very durable and made with tooth colored materials. This procedure allows Dr. Stagis and Dr. Vick to treat patients more conservatively and allows for more healthy tooth structure to be saved.
